ProSo 101

What is ProSo?

ProSo is a better-for-you soda crafted by a Registered Dietitian to give you the protein your body needs — with the crisp, refreshing satisfaction of your favorite soda. Each can delivers 10g of whey protein isolate, zero sugar, and only 45 calories, making it one of the easiest (and tastiest) ways to add protein to your day.

What does ProSo taste like?

ProSo tastes like a real soda — crisp, bubbly, and refreshing — without the syrupy sweetness or chalky protein taste. It falls somewhere between a classic soda and a sparkling water: lightly carbonated, smooth, and easy to drink. Each flavor delivers the satisfying fizz you love, without the harsh bite or overload of bubbles found in many sparkling drinks.

What is “clean” protein?

When we say clean protein, we mean protein that’s easy to digest, highly absorbable, and free from unnecessary fillers. ProSo is made with whey protein isolate — the purest form of whey, containing the highest percentage of protein — and filtered to remove almost all fats, carbs, and lactose. The result: 10g of quality protein without the chalky texture, bloating-effect, or added junk found in most protein drinks.

Why not plant protein or collagen?

Whey protein is often called the gold standard because it’s a complete protein — meaning it contains all nine essential amino acids your body can’t make on its own but needs to stay strong and recover.

Plant proteins usually fall short, lacking one or more of those amino acids or offering them in smaller amounts. They also tend to be gritty in texture and come with a less reliable (and more expensive) supply chain — which can compromise both taste and consistency.

Collagen, on the other hand, is great for hair, skin, and nails but isn’t a complete protein source. It’s missing most essential amino acids, doesn’t contribute to your % daily value of protein intake, and is often used as a cheap substitute for other protein sources.

What sweetener is used in ProSo?

ProSo is lightly sweetened with OnoSweet®, a patented, zero-calorie, plant-based sweetener from fermented rice. It delivers a clean, sugar-like sweetness without spiking blood sugar, leaving a bad aftertaste or causing bloating. It’s a smarter, eco-friendly alternative to stevia, monk fruit, or sugar alcohols. Basically: real sweetness, none of the weird aftertaste.

What is a Registered Dietitian vs a Nutritionist?

In short — anyone can call themselves a “nutritionist.” There’s no required training, certification, or license to use that title, which can be misleading and potentially dangerous to public health.

A Registered Dietitian (RD), on the other hand, is a licensed and credentialed nutrition expert. Becoming an RD requires an accredited master’s degree, over 1,200 hours of supervised practice across different domains of nutrition, passing a national board exam, maintaining state licensure, and completing ongoing continuing education.

So when we say ProSo is Dietitian-formulated, we mean it’s backed by real science, not social media advice.

FAQs

How many can I drink a day?

Because there’s no sugar, caffeine, or artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners, you can enjoy ProSo as often as you’d like, totally guilt-free. Drink it on its own, with a meal, day or night. Hitting your daily protein goals can be a challenge, but ProSo makes it a whole lot easier (and tastier) to get there.

Is ProSo good for kids?

Yes! ProSo is great for kids (and adults) alike. As an excellent source of protein with no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners, it’s a balanced option that fits into almost any routine. The moderate protein amount safely supports growth and development, and the light, naturally sweet taste means they’ll actually want to drink it.

Is it safe to drink while pregnant or breastfeeding?

ProSo is made with clean ingredients and contains no caffeine, sugar, or artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners, so many people choose to enjoy it during pregnancy. That said, everyone’s nutritional needs are different — especially during pregnancy — so we always recommend checking with your healthcare provider for advice on consuming ProSo while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Does ProSo require refrigeration?

Nope! ProSo is shelf-stable and doesn’t need to be refrigerated until you’re ready to drink it. We do recommend chilling it before cracking a can — because who doesn’t love an ice cold refreshing soda?

Where is ProSo made?

ProSo is proudly made right here in Greenville, South Carolina — the city where our story began. Each batch is produced in an FDA registered facility that meets strict food safety and quality standards, so every can you crack is clean, consistent, and made with care.
